Youth Fellowship [Teens +]
(Saturdays, 5:30-7:00 PM)
The youth ministry at Bethel Baptist Church is a vibrant community of students pursuing 10th standard schooling and above. There is no strict upper age limit. Any person who feels young at heart can be a part of this group. The youth alongside adult leaders seek to serve God and the neighbours through in-depth Bible studies, youth projects, community service, and friendship.
The youth group meets every Saturday for Bible study and fellowship. Currently the group is going through a discipleship study through the Gospel of Mark anchored by Pastor D’Cunha. Before they come together for the Bible study, the youth come prepared with specific thoughts/questions for discussion. During the week they would have studied the passage and answered pre-defined questions. Unlike typical youth groups that divide students, we keep the entire group together as we see value in positive peer relationships and encouraging connections beyond one’s immediate grade. The group also meets together for games and other social activities. Currently we meet virtually due to the pandemic situation and God willing will resume physical meetings which is of much more value for spiritual growth.
Youth in general has the potential to change the whole group. They are searching for meaningful studies of the Bible that are insightful, conversational, and relevant. Bethel Baptist Church desires to invest in today’s youth which is very necessary for the growth of the body of Christ. Our endeavour is to prepare them to serve the Lord in whatever capacity that the Lord places them in. Serving young people cannot only prepare them to become future leaders, but also allow them to contribute to the church. We see this in the Bible, as God often used young people to do great things. Eg. God used Timothy to pastor and lead the Ephesian church when he was a teenager. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
We have seen the Lord working in our youth very effectively over the years and continue to seek his guidance in the days to come.
Come deepen your knowledge and application of the Bible with a group of peers, and don’t forget to bring your questions
